Ace The Interview

When you are on the hunt for your dream job, you may think that once you get an interview, the hardest part is over. Well one of the hard parts is over as your qualifications and experience are no good to your potential employer if you are rude, unkempt or disorganised.

Therefore, make sure you do some quick preparation before the interview to ensure you have the best possible chance of getting the job you are going for. As with most things in life, going to your interview prepared will make the whole experience a lot easier and a lot more productive for you.

This means not only preparing yourself and your clothes, but also preparing by going over your resume and doing a bit of research about the company too. The better prepared you are, the less nervous you will feel and this will allow you to easily answer all of the questions from your interviewer.

When conducting the interview, the interviewer will not only be looking at the answers you give, but the way you give them too. This means being polite and replying in a way which conveys that you are interested in the questions and in being part of the company.

Some employers will give their interviewees a short test as part of the selection process. This may be a typing test for an administrative role, a mail merge for a PA position or a short editing test for a writing position. Whatever the test is, you want to make sure you do well as while the results will not be the only thing you are judged on, you don’t want to do poorly.

Therefore, make sure you listen closely to the instructions or read any written instructions carefully to ensure you understand them. Also, if you are stuck on a part of the test, don’t dwell on it as there may be other questions you can easily answer.
